Licensed Mental Health Therapist for Child and Adolescent Care

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist, licensed as a LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW, to join our team at Insightful Journeys Counseling Center. As a full-time therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering specialized mental health services to children and adolescents in a remote telehealth setting, ensuring that our young clients receive the comprehensive care they need.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexible scheduling while maintaining a structured work week from Monday to Friday, with hours set from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasionally, evening shifts may be required based on the needs of our clients, ensuring that we are accessible to those requiring after-hours support. You will be utilizing modern telehealth platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems to conduct therapy sessions and document patient progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and evaluations to determine the unique needs of each child and adolescent client.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the developmental stage and family context of each client.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, and family therapy sessions.
• Offer crisis intervention and support, especially during mental health emergencies, ensuring timely and effective responses to acute situations.
• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive treatment and care.
• Educate clients and families about mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and community resources for additional support.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Participate actively in team meetings and case consultations, contributing insights and sharing best practices with colleagues.
• Seek out ongoing professional development opportunities to remain updated on advancements in child and adolescent mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be on children and adolescents struggling with various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. As a therapist, your interventions will significantly impact the lives of these young individuals and their families, guiding them through their mental health journeys and helping to foster resilience and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
• Strong foundational knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, therapeutic modalities, and treatment approaches.
• Experience in delivering individual and family therapy to young populations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a child-centered and empathetic approach.
• Ability to build strong rapport and trust with clients and their families, fostering a safe therapeutic environment.
• Proficiency in navigating EHR systems and digital tools for documentation and communication.
• A collaborative mindset, confident in working alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in mental health counseling, specifically working with children and adolescents.
• Experience in a telehealth setting is highly regarded, given the remote nature of this role.
• Familiarity with evidence-based treatment practices specifically designed for younger populations.

Compensation and Benefits

Insightful Journeys offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with performance-based bonuses.
