Rotational Full-Time Housekeeper / House Manager / Personal Assistant: $140K+ and Benefits

Principals with secondary residence in Wainscott, New York (East Hampton) and other residences in Nolita of NYC and Miami, Florida are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented rotational full-time housekeeper / house manager / personal assistant who will efficiently clean and organize 11,000 square foot residence alongside another rotational full-time employee. During season (May – September), schedule is 40 hours per week on five out of seven days per week (including weekdays and weekends) with two consecutive days off per week and one weekend off per month. During off season (October – April), schedule is on Monday – Friday at 40 hours per week. Flexibility to travel to other residences in NYC and Miami, Florida is required. Rotational housekeeper / house manager / personal assistants will collaboratively make schedules based on principal’s schedules at least four weeks in advance. Principals plan to spend most of their time between Memorial Day and end of September in Hamptons. Principals spend approximately three weeks each summer (middle of June through first week of July) in Europe. Principals will likely spend majority of February and March at residence in Miami, Florida. Principals travel approximately 1-2 weekends out of every month and Mr. travels for work approximately 1-2 times per month. Principals host occasional dinner parties and out-of-town guests at NYC and Miami residences. During the summer in Hamptons, principals frequently host guests, dinner parties and entertain on weekends. The ability to work around the principals’ schedules while at the same time cleaning and organizing in an efficient manner is important. Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion (confidentiality agreement required), experienced working with principals that are around residence (discreet and staying out of the way is important), adept at organizing, have common sense, detail oriented with the know-how to thoroughly deep clean, knowledgeable with cleaning various surfaces and artwork, experienced assisting with entertaining, picking up groceries, coordinating with dry cleaners, running errands, bringing in / organizing packages and skilled with laundry and linen care. Candidates must be comfortable taking care of cats (changing liter boxes, taking for routine veterinary appointments, etc.) and working around dogs (when guests are visiting residences with pets). Candidates with many years of private full-time housekeeper / house manager / p personal assistant experience working in large square footage residences is required. Uniform is required (e.g., black athleisure, solid colored pants, polo shirt, indoor shoes, no perfume or fragrances, no jewelry, etc.). Safe vehicle for transportation is required for employee to get to and from work daily in East Hampton. Accommodations will be provided for employee when traveling to residences in NYC and Miami, Florida. Family is open to local candidates and domestic relocations. Start date is flexible for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• General

  • Keep cleaning supply and household inventory
  • Laundry for principals’ clothing and linens for all bedrooms and bathrooms
  • Run errands (e. g., dry cleaner, seamstress, florist, drop off donations, etc.)
  • Grocery shopping / fridge stocking
  • Receive deliveries, unpack and organize incoming packages
  • Care for indoor plants
  • Pet care for two cats (e.g., feeding, brushing, maintaining litter boxes & water fountain, etc.)
  • Pack and unpack principals for travel
  • Coordinate with additional staff / vendors (e.g., communicate with chef ahead of arrival to coordinate times, meet chef and guide through residence, let in handymen, etc.)
  • Basic healthy meal preparation based on guidance from principals (e.g., chopping vegetables, steamed vegetables, baked chicken, salad with protein for lunch, basic pasta, presenting / styling charcuterie boards and other basic foods for entertaining, etc.) 
  • Assistance with entertaining (e.g., preparation for event, helping during event, clean up, etc.)
  • Display seasonal holiday decorations (e.g., Christmas tree and decorations, etc.) 

• Nolita in Manhattan (NYC)

  • Cleaning and organizing of 3,000 square foot primary residence
  • Assistance with entertaining / events (e.g., preparation for event, clean up, washing dishes, offering drinks, assistance during the event, etc.)

• Wainscott, New York (East Hampton)

  • Primarily responsible for the cleanliness of the 11,000 square foot East Hampton secondary residence (rotational housekeeper will be working to supplement, especially as guests residence) 
    • Employees are expected to direct and guide supplemental housekeepers / cleaning service as needed to maintain the cleanliness of the home
  • Pet care for occasional guests of principals (e.g., walking a medium size dog when principals go out to eat, pet waste removal, feeding, showering / rinsing after beach play, etc.)

• Miami, Florida 

  • Cleaning and organizing of 8,000 square foot secondary residence
  • Assistance with entertaining / events (e.g., preparation for event, clean up, washing dishes, offering drinks, assistance during the event, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Understand the importance of maintaining discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions

• Technology proficient (e. g., email and text messages for communication,smart home systems, Robot for cleaning floors, cordless Dyson, etc.)

• Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, climb stairs, kneel, and bend

• Professional with positive attitude, hard working, and pleasant to be around

• Collaborative to work with domestic staff and team player

• Active and fit

• Discreet and calm demeanor

• Non-smoker

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-6+ years of recent and consistent full-time housekeeper / house manager / personal assistant experience

• 3-4+ references from domestic positions

• United States passport (or Green Card / Permanent Resident Card)

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• Extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests, and psychological evaluation

• Seeking longevity / long term commitment (e.g., at least 2-5+ years commitment)

• Live a commutable proximity to family’s residence in Wainscott (East Hampton) or willingness to relocate

• Safe vehicle for transportation 

• Comfortable with cats and dogs

COMPENSATION:

• $140K+ gross annual salary (based on experience and qualifications)

• Gross overtime rate of time and a half (41+ hours per week)
