Fire Protection Design Engineer

Location: Long Beach, CA or Seattle, WA Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office / 2 remote) Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000 We are seeking a Fire Protection Design Engineer with 5-9 years of experience . This is a great opportunity to contribute to diverse, high-impact projects while continuing to grow your technical expertise in fire protection and life safety systems. Position Responsibilities Perform fire and building code analysis Design fire protection systems, including sprinklers, fire alarms, and specialized suppression systems Develop system layouts and construction documents Perform sprinkler hydraulic calculations and fire alarm calculations Conduct site assessments and prepare technical reports Support senior engineers with engineering analyses (e.g., smoke control, hazardous materials, energy storage systems, combustible dust) Provide construction phase support, including: Responding to RFIs Reviewing submittals Participating in punch walks Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field 5-9 years of experience in fire protection system design (sprinkler and/or fire alarm) Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit Experience with sprinkler calculation software (e.g., AutoSPRINK, HydraCALC) Strong knowledge of Building and Fire Codes and NFPA standards Preferred Qualifications Experience with healthcare, education, and/or federal projects Master's degree in Fire Protection Exposure to project management or business development EIT or PE license NICET certification (Fire Sprinkler or Fire Alarm) Equal Employment Opportunity Employer P2S and its affiliate companies are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
