Staff Accountant

Whitecap Search is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional to join our finance team. This role will support the company’s general accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accurate and timely close processes while partnering cross-functionally with operations and leadership. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to analyze financial data to support business decisions. Key Responsibilities Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Maintain general ledger activity and ensure accuracy of financial data across multiple entities. Prepare and analyze financial statements and internal management reports. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. Partner with operations and other departments to support financial reporting and analysis. Monitor inventory and COGS-related activity, ensuring proper accounting treatment. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards. Support internal and external audit requests. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in food manufacturing. Strong knowledge of standard costing and variance analysis. Experience with Sage X3 or other ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis). Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally.
