Position Details Job Location: Monroe Township, NJ08831 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $47.00–$51.00 Hourly Job Shift: Day (FT Day). Location coverage includes NJTS (Monroe, NJ) and RCH Essex (Newark,NJ). Position Summary The Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides comprehensive mental health care and support to the inmate/patient population within a correctional facility. The LCSW assesses, plans, and delivers individualized treatment services while collaborating with the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure the safety, well-being, and rehabilitation of inmates/patients. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field. Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LSW, LPC, or equivalent in the state where services are provided. Key Responsibilities Clinical Services Conduct mental health intakes, assessments, and crisis interventions. Provide individual and group counseling tailored to inmate/patient needs. Analyze psychosocial and behavioral factors to inform treatment planning. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Maintain accurate and timely progress notes, treatment documentation, and discharge summaries. Treatment Team Collaboration Actively participate as a member of the treatment team to coordinate care and implement interventions. Provide observational feedback and professional insights to the multidisciplinary team. Refer inmates/patients to appropriate external resources and services upon release. Program & Environment Management Facilitate therapeutic group sessions addressing identified treatment issues. Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for all inmates/patients. Ensure compliance with facility policies, ethical standards, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the facility and behavioral health program. Skills & Competencies Strong clinical assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention skills. Knowledge of correctional mental health practices and trauma-informed care. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional boundaries. Physical & Work Environment Ability to work in a secure correctional environment, adhering to safety and security protocols. May require standing, walking, and occasional lifting or assisting patients. Must respond appropriately in high-stress or emergency situations. Upholds HIPAA and PREA regulations. Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts. Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility.
