Registered Nurse - ICU - 26-Week Contract

This position features a variable schedule, with shifts from 7a-7p and 7p-7a, working 3x12s as needed throughout the holidays.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to manage multiple priorities and embody the spirit of teamwork, ensuring a healing environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU, utilizing advanced nursing skills and knowledge.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses and vital signs.
• Assess patient conditions and correlate data to implement appropriate care plans.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring adherence to safety and ethical standards.
• Maintain a sterile and safe environment, following hospital protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
• Certification in Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office products preferred.
