Physician - Electrophysiology

Job Description We are looking for a doctor to provide heart care services for patients both in the hospital and in the clinic. Work Schedule You will work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will share on-call duties (2 doctors for every 1 doctor on call) with another heart specialist. Travel may be required between our locations in Detroit and Warren. Responsibilities You will perform important procedures such as placing pacemakers and defibrillators and conducting heart surgeries to correct problems. During on-call weeks, you will visit patients in the hospital, with some visits done independently. You will build and manage a list of patients who come to us for care. You will work closely with an experienced heart doctor, nurse practitioners, heart surgeons, and a supportive team. Care Environment You will help provide care for very ill patients at our trauma centers that are equipped for Level I and Level III emergencies. You will use a computer program called Cerner for patient records. Qualifications Needed You must be board certified in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology (this is very important). You need to have completed specialized training in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology (also very important). It’s preferred that you have 2 to 3 years of working experience after your training. You must have or be able to get a medical license in Michigan (this is required). You must have certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and have a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration (all required). You need to have a good history with no legal issues regarding malpractice or licenses (this is required). We prefer candidates who do not have another job or a long commute (more than 1 hour). You must get your DEA and CSR/CDS registrations before starting work.
