Registered Nurse - Endoscopy/GI

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care in an Endoscopy/Gastrointestinal (GI) unit, supporting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Collaborate with medical teams to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the endoscopic process.

Responsibilities:

• Admit, assess, and prepare patients for endoscopic procedures while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Circulate and scrub in on endoscopy procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, and bronchoscopy.
• Monitor patients during recovery and discharge them according to clinical guidelines.
• Maintain and document procedural details accurately using Meditech EMR system.
• Adhere to hospital dress code and infection control policies, including surgical attire standards.
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient care requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy.
• Possess BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in PACU or ICU preferred but not required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and adapt to changing situations.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
