About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Lexington, Kentucky, 40502!

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, developmental level, and risk factors
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team, including desired outcomes and evidence-based interventions
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including timely execution of discharge orders, discharge teaching, and coordination with Case Management
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by other team members
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures

• Previous nursing experience in a clinical setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
