Biochemistry Affiliate Instructor

Position Summary

Part‑time affiliate faculty teaching position in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver). The primary responsibility is to teach biochemistry and introduction to organic & biological science courses (lecture and laboratory) at basic and advanced undergraduate levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach biochemistry and introduction to organic & biological science courses (lecture and laboratory) at basic and advanced undergraduate levels.
• Prepare course materials and lesson plans, grade student work, and provide timely feedback.
• Deliver course content in person or online, consistent with the syllabus and department policies.
• Provide academic support to students as needed.
• Adapt to new modes of instruction and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
• Previous teaching experience.

Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually semester‑by‑semester. They are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. Assignment may require teaching in person/on campus upon hire.

Salary

Rate per credit hour assignment: $1,264 – $1,482, based on the number of credit hours assigned.
