Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team in Archbold, Ohio. Position Summary: Bil-Jax, Inc. is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support our Scaffolding Operations by sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, components, and services required for production. This position is responsible for ensuring that quality materials are available when needed, at the best possible value, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting overall operational objectives. This position reports directly to the Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager and works closely with Production, Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Finance teams. Key Responsibilities Combine all of the job duties into one section: Source and procure raw materials, fabricated components, finished goods, and services required for scaffolding manufacturing. Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery performance, and cost competitiveness. Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, freight terms, and supplier agreements. Create, issue, and manage purchase orders within the ERP system. Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery, or service issues. Collaborate with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Inventory teams to support manufacturing requirements. Analyze demand requirements and inventory levels to prevent shortages and minimize excess inventory. Evaluate market trends, material costs, and supply chain risks to support purchasing decisions. Identify and implement cost savings, process improvements, and supplier development initiatives. Support new product launches by sourcing materials and coordinating with suppliers. Maintain purchasing records, contracts, and procurement documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies, sourcing standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate in supplier audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement projects. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum three years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management experience. Experience working with ERP systems; Epicor experience preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Self-motivated with strong attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience with steel, aluminum, fabricated components, or industrial products. CPSM, CSCP, or similar supply chain certification. Experience with supplier development and strategic sourcing initiatives. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles.
