Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
The general production worker supports the early concrete crew by removing concrete castings from the kiln, performing finishing work, and assisting with mold building and pouring. This role involves working with concrete products, operating production equipment, and completing various general labor tasks to ensure efficient and safe operations on the morning shift.
Responsibilities
- Remove concrete castings from the kiln at the start of the morning shift and safely transport them for further processing.
- Perform final finishing work on concrete products, including repairing dried imperfections and ensuring products meet quality standards.
- Build and assemble custom components for concrete products according to specifications and instructions.
- Assist in the pouring and building of concrete molds, ensuring accuracy, stability, and proper setup.
- Monitor and help ensure that the zublin and related production equipment operate efficiently and safely.
- Operate general production machinery and equipment as needed, following all safety and operational procedures.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, or measurements to complete production tasks accurately.
- Use a tape measure to verify dimensions and ensure products and molds meet required specifications.
- Perform basic tack welding tasks when required to support production and assembly activities.
- Safely use and assist with overhead crane operations to move materials and products as directed.
- Float between different areas of the facility as needed to support production demands and team needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, recognizing that the environment involves concrete and can be dusty and dirty.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Work occasional Saturdays and additional overtime, especially during busy seasons, to meet production schedules.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify issues, improve processes, and maintain a safe, efficient workflow.
- At least 1 year of previous manufacturing experience or at least 1 year of previous construction experience.
- Strong mechanical inclination, such as experience working on vehicles, assembling furniture, or performing basic home or yard projects.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for production and quality checks.
- Willingness to perform general labor in a concrete production environment that can be dirty and physically demanding.
- Comfort working in a facility that may be chilly in the winter and warmer in the summer.
- Ability and willingness to float to different areas of the facility based on production needs.
- Openness to working 10–15 hours of overtime per week during busy seasons.
- Willingness to work occasional Saturdays as required to meet production demands.
- Comfort consistently wearing PPE, including steel-toed boots with metatarsal covers and other safety gear.
- Basic ability to read and understand simple blueprints or production drawings.
- Capability to operate or learn to operate production machinery and equipment safely.
- Reliability in adhering to early morning shift hours and maintaining consistent attendance.
- Experience in general production, general labor, or machine operation in an industrial or construction setting.
- Familiarity with concrete production processes or working with concrete materials.
- Experience with tack welding in a production or construction environment.
- Exposure to overhead crane operation or willingness to learn safe crane handling practices.
- Ability to interpret basic blueprints to support accurate mold building and finishing tasks.
- Mechanical aptitude that supports troubleshooting minor equipment or process issues.
- Interest in cross-training across multiple areas of the facility to build broader skills and versatility.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large concrete production facility that spans two buildings and includes a storage yard. All work takes place indoors, but the environment is inherently dirty due to concrete production and can be dusty. Temperatures vary with the seasons, with cooler conditions in the winter and warmer conditions in the summer. Safety is the top priority, and the facility maintains a highly safety-conscious culture with clear procedures and required protective gear. The standard schedule is a first shift from 4:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the expectation of working 5 ten-hour days during busy seasons and occasional Saturdays as needed. Employees must wear steel-toed boots with metatarsal covers, while the company provides additional PPE such as fluorescent vests, safety glasses, hard hats, gloves, and ear plugs. The environment involves operating machinery, handling concrete products, and working around heavy equipment, so adherence to safety practices and PPE requirements is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stacy, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
