Senior Food Scientist – Salty Snack R&D
Grand Rapids, MI | Onsite
$110,000–$135,000 base + bonus
Pro Found Recruiting is conducting a confidential search for a growing food manufacturer seeking a hands-on Senior Food Scientist. Direct salty-snack product-development experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop new products from bench concept through commercialization
- Lead formulation, plant trials and production start-ups
- Conduct shelf-life and packaging-performance studies
- Partner directly with customers, operations, quality and other internal teams
- Maintain formulas, specifications, nutritional data and process documentation
- Support and help grow a small R&D team
Qualifications
- Direct R&D experience with tortilla chips, crackers, popcorn, extruded snacks, puffs, pellet snacks or similar savory products
- 5–7+ years of food product-development experience
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related discipline
- Strong formulation, commercialization and plant-trial experience
- Knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP and GMP requirements
- Co-manufacturing or customer-facing development experience is strongly preferred
- Comfortable working equally in the R&D lab and on the production floor
Modest lump-sum relocation assistance may be available for an exceptional match. Occasional travel is required.
