As a key member of our dining team, you will prepare and cook meals for our residents, maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and quality. Qualifications 6 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience State Food Certification required, if applicable Ability to lift 25-35 pounds Ability to effectively communicate in English and understand and follow written and oral instructions Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents, residents' families, and other employees Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare all food according to the menu in a safe, sanitary manner under the direction of the food service director Insure proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods according to standardized recipes Prepare quality food products according to standardized recipes and menus Prepare food in a timely manner at specified meal times Assume responsibility for total kitchen operations and handle all situations in the kitchen according to policy Respond to resident issues or concerns that may occur in the dining room Follow departmental procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules Follow proper cleaning procedures and storage of all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment Insure all food in the refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage are labeled and dated Oversees proper food handling and utilization of all foods to prevent contamination, increase quality, and reduce cost Suggest menu or recipe changes to utilize leftovers and other supplies Clean all food equipment, kitchen, and food storage areas Coordinate work of dining services aids Efficiently use time to complete assigned work Other duties as assigned Work Environment The Promenade at Tuxedo Place is a family-owned and operated independent and assisted living community located in Tuxedo Park, NY Our community is known for its warm and vibrant atmosphere, with a focus on supporting our residents' independence and well-being Our staff is dedicated to providing individualized attention and care to our residents, and we are seeking a Cook who shares this commitment to excellence Salary $17 - $21 HOURLY How to Apply If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about food and customer service, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. #J-18808-Ljbffr
