Mechanical Engineer

OVERVIEW:

The Mechanical Engineer will design and draft material handling equipment and runways.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Designs products such as overhead cranes, crane components, and runways. Works with a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans. Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product. Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production. Perform quality checks with the use of total station or other equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent mechanical and technical skills. Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required Two years of related experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to walk throughout manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and outdoor work areas. Ability to stand for extended periods while conducting inspections, troubleshooting equipment, or supporting manufacturing operations. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb stairs or ladders as necessary to inspect equipment, machinery, and work areas. Ability to access and inspect all areas of machinery, equipment, and production facilities. Ability to distinguish colors, read technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and computer screens. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and contractors in both office and manufacturing environments. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed footwear, hard hats, and other safety equipment as required. Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites, vendor locations, project sites, or other company facilities, as required.
