The Dual Generation Family Centered Case Coach plays a critical role in advancing United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County’s Dual Generation Initiative by serving as a trusted partner to families navigating complex systems. This position is responsible for building strong, supportive strength‑based relationships with families in prioritized communities, connecting them to relevant services, and fostering progress toward their personal and family educational and economic goals. Grounded in a family-centered and strengths-based approach, the Family Centered Case Coach provides individualized guidance and helps ensure families have access to coordinated, holistic resources that promote long‑term well‑being and stability. This role also requires collaboration with internal teams and community partners to align efforts and support family success.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and maintain trusting, strengths-based relationships with families participating in the Dual Generation Initiative, recognizing families as experts in their own lives and empowering them to achieve self-defined goals. Conduct holistic family assessments to identify strengths, barriers, priorities, and opportunities for growth, using approved assessment tools and family-centered coaching practices. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized family success plans that address the interconnected needs of parents and children, promote economic mobility, and support long-term family stability and well-being. Provide ongoing coaching, goal setting, accountability, crisis intervention, and problem-solving support through regular family meetings, home visits, virtual engagements, and other approved methods of service delivery. Assist families in navigating and accessing community resources, public benefits, education, workforce development, childcare, healthcare, housing, and other support systems; advocate on behalf of families when barriers to access arise. Implement outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and retention strategies to engage eligible families and sustain active participation in programs and services. Coordinate parent, family, and community engagement activities that increase awareness of available resources, strengthen social connections, and promote family participation. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, employers, service providers, faith-based organizations, neighborhood groups, and other community stakeholders to strengthen resource networks and support family outcomes. Collaborate with internal staff, cross-sector partners, and community organizations to coordinate services, align support strategies, and ensure a comprehensive, whole-family approach to service delivery. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records, including assessments, service plans, case notes, referrals, enrollment documentation, and program outcomes within designated data management systems. Monitor family progress, track program outcomes, and contribute to data collection, reporting, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement efforts. Participate in team meetings, partner collaborations, professional development opportunities, and community events to remain informed of best practices, available resources, and emerging community needs. Demonstrate cultural responsiveness, professionalism, empathy, and trauma-informed practices when working with diverse families experiencing economic, educational, housing, health, or other life challenges. Ensure compliance with program policies, funding requirements, confidentiality standards, and organizational procedures. Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization and the success of the Dual Generation Initiative.BENEFITS

High school diploma or GED and 4 years of community related work experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or 2 years of community related work experience plus an associate degree. Background working with volunteers, parents and/or residents. Knowledge of San Antonio’s westside community. Work experience with parents and resident engagement preferred. Prior experience as a participant in a parent support program preferred. Experience working with lower-income and diverse populations. Proven work experience performing case management and/or program intake function.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES INFORMATION
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships that promote cooperation and collaborative work with United Way funded agencies and Bexar County community. Interacts with team members at all levels of the organization with focus on relationships in the Dual Gen Initiative. Bi-lingual ability in English and Spanish preferred. Ability to multitask, strong attention to detail and organization; ability to prioritize and complete tasks prior to deadlines. Ability to work cooperatively and as a member of a team with parents, staff and the community at large. Always conduct yourself and your appearance in a professional manner. Good written and verbal communication skills. Facilitation experience and skills. Willingness to build public speaking and presentation skills. Relationship Building and Community Engagement skills. Demonstrate sensitivity and empathy regarding human service issues and project a non-judgmental attitude towards individuals requiring assistance. Prior understanding of the issues and struggles of families in poverty and prior experience working in a direct service role with under-resourced families. Ability to work with and manage a wide variety of populations and personalities with respect, compassion, and dignity. Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. Basic understanding of social media platforms. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) proficiency preferred.UNITED WAY COMPETENCIES

Normal nonprofit office environment with little exposure to dust, noise and extreme temperatures. Extended work on personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Reliable transportation is required with the ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events locally, routinely and around the state and nationally, occasionally. Monday–Friday, 8:15am to 4:45pm work week with occasional evening and weekend hours. Although UWSA offers a Hybrid-Remote work modality there will be initiatives at varying times of the year that will require additional days on-site up to 5days per week through the completion of the initiative.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
