Master Scheduler

Responsibilities Develop and maintain the master production schedule based on forecast, inventory objectives, and customer requests. Review and ensure that the production requirement dates and customer delivery schedules are in sync. Highlight significant issues of delayed customer shipments, production problems, inventory shortages, and current status to management daily. Coordinate solutions to any schedule issues with production control and operations teams to ensure on‑time delivery of product. Utilize forecasting techniques and experience to manage manufacturing contracts with key customers on high volume products. Facilitate daily production meetings to supply information on the status of material and provide ship dates. Plan, organize, direct, and control activities related to the procurement function. Analyze delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and report findings to management. Utilize appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques and manage procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements. Work closely with the Receiving department to ensure proper supplies arrive and are electronically received correctly into the system. Maintain surveillance over inventory to assure good asset management and sufficient inventory to satisfy company production and sales efforts. Maintain procedures that offer minimum guidelines describing the basic functions of the department and provide a framework for relationships with suppliers. Study workflow and sequence of operations in the department and recommend process improvements. Write and implement standard work instructions for the department, train all personnel, and monitor effectiveness. Participate actively in VOS activities. Qualifications Strong knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management, and supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment. Proven ability to develop and manage master production schedules that balance customer demand, inventory targets, and production capacity. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills with a data‑driven approach. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Production, Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, and Leadership teams. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, resolve scheduling conflicts, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Strong understanding of inventory control practices, forecasting methodologies, and supply chain performance metrics. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Master Production Scheduling, Production Control, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing Planning. Experience in a high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environment preferred. Proven experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems, Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) tools, and capacity planning systems. APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD) preferred. Experience with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), demand planning, and inventory optimization processes.
