AssemblerThe Assembler is responsible for the complete mechanical and electrical assembly of units from start to finish, using a variety of hand and power tools. This role involves reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals to build units, laying out and building control panels, assembling conveyors, installing motors, and building panel boards. The position combines hands-on labor, basic repetitive tasks, and higher-level assembly work, including troubleshooting and repairing components, while also supporting general facility tasks such as warehouse and packaging activities.ResponsibilitiesPerform complete mechanical and electrical assembly of units from start to finish using a variety of hand and power tools.Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and service manuals to accurately build units.Lay out and build control panels, including PLC and drive components, without programming responsibilities.Assemble conveyors, install motors, and build panel boards according to specifications and quality standards.Install wiring, electrical components such as terminals and jump fuses, and electrical panels with a focus on accuracy and safety.Carry out both simple, repetitive tasks and more complex, high-level assembly work as needed.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components as issues arise during assembly.Support other facility activities, including warehouse tasks, packaging, and general operational duties.Use computer software to read, understand, and work within new programs related to assembly and production processes.Apply a clear understanding of the assembly and building process, including the reasons behind each step, to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.Collaborate with team members on a new production line and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.Essential SkillsMinimum 2 years of electro-mechanical assembly experience.Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.Foundational understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.Hands-on experience with basic tools, including fundamental hand and power tools.Proficiency in mechanical assembly, including building and assembling components and subassemblies.Ability to install wiring, electrical components, and panels accurately and safely.Experience with control panel layout and assembly, including PLCs and drives (no programming required).Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components at a practical level.Experience using computer software beyond Microsoft Office and the ability to read and understand new programs.Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to describe the assembly and building process and the reasoning behind each step.Willingness to perform both basic repetitive tasks and more complex assembly work.Interest in long-term employment and openness to training and skill development.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience assembling conveyors, installing motors, and building panel boards.Comfort working in a role that combines hands-on labor with technical assembly tasks.Ability to adapt to different tasks around the facility, including warehouse and packaging duties.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.Ability to work effectively as part of a team on a new production line.Openness to learning new technologies, tools, and processes.Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a production environment.Why Work Here?You will join a company that invests in its people and supports long-term growth and development. Standard hours are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break, and there is some flexibility with start times to accommodate personal needs such as childcare, subject to operational requirements. You will work on a brand-new line within a modern, organized environment, using a variety of hand and power tools and computer-based programs to support assembly and production activities.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
