IP Licensing & Transactions Counsel

Job Description

Our top-tier technology client is seeking a Sr. IP Counsel contractor to help drive IP strategy and negotiations on behalf of its engineering groups and business units. You will handle cutting-edge intellectual property issues, working closely with other legal professionals and senior executives. This includes transactions covering all forms of intellectual property, technology licenses and development agreements, IP dispute resolution, and IP licensing.

This is a 12 month contract.

Scope of Work

\n

Title: IP Licensing and Transactions Counsel (Secondment)

\n

Experience: 7+ Years

\n

Location: Remote

\n

Hours: 40 Hours / Week

\n

Duration: 12 Months

\n

Pay Rate: $100 - $120 / hour ($200,000 - $240,000 annualized)

Minimum Qualifications

\n

\n
• At least 7-10 years experience in both technology licensing and pure IP licensing, including in nine- or ten-figure transactions.
\n
• JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.
\n
• Trained in complex IP negotiations at a major technology industry law firm, at a Fortune 100 company, or both.
\n
• Expertise in every form of intellectual property, including patent law, copyright law, trademark law, trade secret law, and others.

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
\n
• Deep and intuitive understanding of the key intellectual property strategies of Fortune 50 Silicon Valley companies.
\n
• Able to parse and understand a single sentence that’s three pages long, with flawless accuracy.
\n
• At least some familiarity with the differences in intellectual property law between the legal systems of other major industrialized nations.
\n
• A lifelong passion for technology.
\n
• Patent prosecution or intellectual property litigation experience a plus.
\n
