Substitute Bus Driver

Support Service Personnel

Days: 186/187

Reports to: Supervisor of Transportation

Required:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Pass yearly physical examination
3. Meet all minimum state school bus operator requirements
4. Ability to work without supervision
5. Cooperate and get along with others
6. Honesty
7. Work as a member of a team

Desirable:

1. Knowledge of the streets of the City of Canton
2. Knowledge of the locations of Canton City Schools and buildings

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of a Bus Driver include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Obeys all traffic laws
2. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
3. Maintains discipline with the students
4. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority
5. Keeps assigned bus clean
6. Keeps to the assigned schedule
7. Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects
8. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness
9. Discharges students only at designated stops
10. Performs other duties as assigned
