Senior Cost Manager

The Role On behalf of our client, we are seeking technically sharp, self-reliant Cost Managers from Junior to Senior levels who thrive on accuracy and ownership. The core requirement of this role is the ability to take a complex, raw set of design drawings and execute precise, independent technical take-offs and pricing with minimal oversight. For mid-to-senior candidates, you will also step into a leadership capacity-guiding project teams and managing commissions from inception to completion. There is a strong demand for professionals with capabilities in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems as well as Structural (Steel/Concrete) elements. Key Responsibilities Technical & Quantity Take-offs: Independently review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to produce highly accurate, detailed quantities (including structural steel, concrete, and finishes). Cost Estimating & Modeling: Develop comprehensive, data-driven cost models and budgets from early conceptual design phases through to final construction documents. MEP Quantification: Deep-dive into mechanical, electrical, and piping systems, ensuring intricate engineering scopes are precisely quantified and realistically priced. Project Leadership (Senior Level): Run project commissions independently, manage client relationships, and mentor junior technical staff. Value Engineering: Evaluate design alternatives and provide strategic advice to optimize client budgets without sacrificing design intent. What You Need to Succeed Our client is scaling their team dynamically and welcomes applications across multiple experience tiers (Junior, Mid, and Senior) who bring: Experience: 2 to 10+ years of dedicated construction cost management, quantity surveying, or estimating experience (experience within a professional consultancy or a major general contractor is highly valued). Drawing Fluency: A proven track record of taking a raw set of drawings and building out comprehensive take-offs with minimal supervision. Technical Depth: Strong foundational knowledge of construction logic, structural steel components, and MEP systems . Modern Tooling: Proficiency with advanced digital take-off and estimating software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, OST). Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
