Project Manager 1

This is a Monday–Friday day shift position supporting construction and facility-related projects across Baylor Scott & White Health locations in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The role requires occasional travel between BSWH facilities to oversee project activities and meet with stakeholders. While the position primarily follows a standard weekday schedule, occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

The Project Manager 1 organizes and leads teams for small to moderately complex projects. They ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks and goals. This includes managing the project scope, timeline, budget, and resources. They also provide leadership and guidance to team members.

Essential functions of the role include:

• Developing project plans to ensure feasibility of project with proper resourcing and effective change management.
• Establishing project deliverables and timeframes and holding project team accountable for completion, keeping in mind both short-term and long-term goals.
• Establishing clear project charter, team roles, responsibilities and accountabilities to ensure success of project.
• Preparing and presenting project scope document and achieving agreement on project parameters and goals.
• Receiving approvals at each phase of project.
• Participating in feasibility studies, business planning, and benefit review studies. Ensuring cost, benefit, and risk elements are identified and considered.
• Collaborating with other departments to obtain needed resources to complete projects within expectations and timeframes.
• Managing small scale and moderately complex projects to ensure quality and timely achievement of project deliverables and goals.
• Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets and status reports.
• Communicating task assignments and due dates in a clear, professional and timely manner.
• Managing work plan and project tasks to meet committed time frames and project milestones.
• Monitoring project status, resolving risks, issues, and action items promptly. Escalating to leadership for support when needed.
• Facilitating team meetings to discuss project progress (daily stand-ups if using Agile methodology).
• Serving as a contact to senior management and key stakeholders to report project progress and to assist with problem resolution.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Maintaining business operations and applications knowledge level to provide required information as needed.

Key success factors include:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Healthcare, or related field preferred.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Experience with construction.
• Experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies.
• Experience with project management tools such as SmartSheet, Planview, Azure Dev Ops, etc.
• Exceptional knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
• Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Aptitude for quickly understanding and documenting new processes and technical concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the project team and stakeholders.
• Exceptional organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
• Ability to balance demands and response to time constraints.
• Exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and collaboration tools.
