Property Accountant
Location: Washington, DC
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $85-100k
A growing commercial real estate organization is seeking a Property Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of properties.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and property reports
- Perform general ledger, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Review property revenues and operating expenses
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances
- Assist with accounts payable, lease accounting, and audit requests
- Maintain accurate property-level accounting records
- Support process improvement and special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 2+ years of accounting experience in commercial real estate or public accounting
- Strong Excel and GAAP knowledge
- Yardi or other real estate accounting software experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
