SQL Engineer

We are seeking a skilled SQL Engineer to design, develop, optimize, and maintain database solutions that support business applications and analytics. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SQL programming, database performance tuning, data modeling, ETL processes, and troubleshooting complex database issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and database objects.
• Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
• Optimize SQL queries for improved performance and scalability.
• Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes for data migration and integration.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across databases.
• Monitor database health and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with application developers to design efficient database solutions.
• Create database documentation, including schema designs and data dictionaries.
• Support production deployments and troubleshoot database-related issues.
• Participate in code reviews and follow database development best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Hands-on experience with one or more databases:
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • PostgreSQL

• Expertise in:

  • Joins
  • CTEs
  • Window Functions
• Experience with query optimization and execution plan analysis.
• Knowledge of database normalization and data modeling.
• Experience with ETL tools or data migration processes.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SSIS, SSRS, or SSMS.
• Knowledge of Azure SQL Database or AWS RDS.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in SQL development or database engineering.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
