Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Traveler Only

Location: Rochester, NY
Pay Rate: $30 - $35/hour
Duration: 13 Weeks - Traveler Only
Shift: Evening Shift
Schedule: 4x10 Hours | 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM or 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Call Requirement: Required
Weekend Requirement: 6 Shifts per 8-Week Block (Including Weekends & Holidays)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support a high-volume Operating Room with multiple surgical specialties. The CST will assist surgeons and the surgical team during operative procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, preparing instruments and supplies, and ensuring efficient workflow throughout surgical cases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures

• Maintain sterile technique and aseptic practices throughout procedures

• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgery

• Anticipate surgical team needs and support efficient case progression

• Perform surgical counts according to facility policy

• Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases

• Support patient safety initiatives and universal protocol procedures

• Handle surgical specimens according to facility guidelines

• Ensure proper decontamination and sterilization of instruments

• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and operating room staff

• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with facility standards

Requirements

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification Required

• Minimum 3 Years of Recent Surgical Technologist Experience

• Previous Travel Experience Required (First-Time Travelers Not Accepted)

• Must Reside More Than 50 Miles from Facility

• Experience in a Multi-Specialty Operating Room Environment

• Strong Knowledge of Sterile Technique and Aseptic Practices

• Experience with Surgical Instrumentation and Equipment

• Knowledge of Decontamination and Sterilization Processes

• Understanding of Sharps Safety and Universal Protocol Procedures

• Epic Experience Preferred
