Registered Nurse - Stepdown/MedSurg Unit

Schedule

This position requires 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

The Stepdown/MedSurg unit is a flex unit that provides care for both floor and step-down patients based on hospital needs. This diverse patient population primarily presents with medical diagnoses. The unit is currently undergoing construction and will feature 29 beds equipped for step-down care, expected to open in the first quarter of 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to a diverse group of patients in a step-down and med-surg setting.
• Manage nurse-patient ratios of 3:1 for step-down patients and 6:1 for med-surg patients.
• Administer medications and titrate IV drips based on written orders.
• Utilize EPIC for charting and patient management.
• Collaborate with Clinical Associates for optimal patient care delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications

• Current RN licensure required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Must have EPIC experience.
• Experience in step-down or med-surg nursing is preferred.
