Fall 2026 Editorial Undergraduate Internship

About the Brennan Center for Justice The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute that seeks to improve the systems of democracy and justice in the United States. We work to hold our political institutions and laws accountable to the twin American ideals of democracy and equal justice for all. Our work ranges from voting rights to campaign finance reform, from ending mass incarceration to preserving constitutional protections in national security policies. Part think tank, part advocacy group, part cutting‑edge communications hub, we start with rigorous research, craft innovative policies, and fight for them in Congress and the states, in the courts, and in the court of public opinion. Internship Details Location : In‑person at our New York office. Duration : September – December 2026 Hours : Approximately 10–20 hours per week Pay : $18.40 per hour Application Deadline : July 24, 2026 Responsibilities Editing and proofreading research and policy reports and material for the website, brainstorming content across platforms, and helping script videos. Copyediting reports, video scripts, social media posts, graphics, staff bios, and other collateral content. Line editing reports and other select publications. Assisting the Editorial team to review proposals and develop supplementary content for reports. Drafting compelling display copy for publications. Attending substantive meetings, events, and conversations on program work. Administrative and reception duties related to the Editorial team. Qualifications The ideal candidate is independent, resourceful, detail‑oriented, and highly organized. Expect interns to have excellent editing, research, writing, and analytical skills, as well as a passion for democracy and justice. Preference will be given to applicants with college journalism or other editorial experience. Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style or other editorial style guides is a plus. This internship is only open to undergraduate students for Fall 2026.
