Our client is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Customer Service/Sales Representative to join a growing manufacturing team. As one of the first points of contact for customers, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service while managing orders, answering product and account questions, and ensuring customer needs are addressed from start to finish.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail matters. You'll collaborate closely with multiple departments to keep orders moving smoothly, provide accurate information, and help create a positive customer experience with every interaction.

Duties

• Receive and process customer orders through phone, email, online submissions, mail, and fax.
• Enter customer orders accurately into the ERP system, schedule orders, and coordinate release to shipping.
• Communicate with customers regarding order status, pricing, product information, sizing, availability, and account inquiries.
• Notify appropriate departments of large or forecasted orders to support planning and production needs.
• Contact customers promptly regarding any changes to pricing, quantities, delivery schedules, or other order details.
• Set up new customer accounts, collect credit references, and assist with account maintenance.
• Process invoicing, credits, adjustments, rebilling transactions, and return authorizations.
• Maintain accurate records, daily logs, and required month-end reporting activities.
• Partner with Shipping, Production, Inventory Control, Technical Support, Materials, and other departments to resolve customer concerns and ensure timely order fulfillment.
• Research and resolve customer issues with professionalism, urgency, and attention to detail.
• Provide backup support for the switchboard and front desk, including greeting visitors, routing calls, and handling general administrative tasks.
• Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with ERP systems and accurate data entry.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including creating spreadsheets and working with formulas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused when handling customer concerns.
• Willingness to learn company products, policies, and procedures. Training will be provided.
• Comfortable using standard office equipment, including multi-line phone systems, printers, copiers, and related technology.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work is performed in an office environment within a manufacturing facility. The role requires frequent computer and phone use, extended periods of sitting, and occasional movement throughout the facility to coordinate with other departments. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Additional Requirements

• Must reside within approximately 45 miles of the work location.
• Must be able to reliably report to work on time, including during winter weather and snow conditions.
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation are required.
