The Department of Medicine at our organization is in search of a Director for the Division of Nephrology, to be appointed at the level of Associate Professor or Professor.

This position offers a unique chance to lead a premier nephrology program, supported by substantial research funding and dedicated time for research activities. The role is based in the vibrant city of Newark, NJ, where you will have the opportunity to develop a top-tier nephrology program alongside newly approved renal transplant services at University Hospital.

• Lead the revitalization of the division, which is a key institutional priority, particularly with the newly sanctioned simultaneous liver-kidney transplant program, backed by the Medical School, the Department of Medicine, and University Hospital.
• Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in renal transplant nephrology who meet UNOS eligibility requirements.
• Ideal candidates will have a background in funded basic or translational research (MD/PhD) and will receive a generous start-up package along with a tenure track position. Clinical research candidates will also benefit from dedicated resources and protected time to ensure the success of their programs.
• The compensation package includes an academic base salary, a supplementary income, and a clinical guarantee. Additionally, there is a retention of 56% of clinical collections after the second year, along with research incentives of up to 30% based on grant funding.
• Serve as the Medical Director at University Hospital, overseeing nephrology services across both inpatient and outpatient settings, including dialysis, IHD, CRRT, PD, and plasma exchange programs.
• Manage five outpatient dialysis facilities.
