Cost AccountantOur client in Durham, NC has an immediate need for a Cost Accountant. The Accountant concentrates on accounting and analysis for inventory standard costs, variances, reserves and cost of goods. This position provides exposure to key accounting and financial reporting areas, offering development opportunities that can lead to advanced roles within the Finance organization or within other departments.Key Responsibilities:Supports accounting for pharmaceutical products as relates to inventory and cost of goodsUpdates cost models for month close which include Manufacturing Variances and Uninvoiced ReceiptsPrepares journal entries to support month end financial close deliverablesReconciles and analyzes key balance sheet and income statement accountsPlans, collects, and analyzes data to drive the annual inventory standard cost and revaluation processesEnsures SOX Compliance for responsible area, including implementing improvements to improve the efficiency of current controlsConducts physical inventory audits, as requiredQualification:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or related discipline1-2 years of experience in a Corporate Finance/Accounting Department or Public Accounting FirmPreferred Qualifications:Experience working in a manufacturing environment, Biotech/Pharma preferredExperience with Oracle EBS, or similar ERP system, a plusStrong/Advanced Excel skills
