Keeneland Full Time Staff Accountant

:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with managing the monthly close process including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and preparing and posting various journal entries.
• Perform various responsibilities for The Thoroughbred Center such as accounts payable processing and maintenance, monthly sales tax returns, yearly 1099s, payment applications and deposits, and other support for the TTC staff.
• Manages the budget process and monthly financial reporting of various departments
• Manages billing and collections for sponsorships and various other miscellaneous items
• Helps manage seasonal activities such as race meet contests and the annual art auction
• Assist with the annual audit by fulfilling requests from outside auditors
• Serves as a backup for team members if they are unavailable
• Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested

Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 1-2 years' experience a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Microsoft 365 experience a plus
• Sage Intacct experience a plus
• Team player
• Detail oriented
• Flexible
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced and everchanging environment

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Must have good phone skills and be able to communicate with others in a professional and concise manner. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patrons and employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to prioritize large volumes of work and multitask efficiently.
