Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Baton Rouge, LA

Job Description

Make an impact through meaningful speech-language support for students in the Baton Rouge area. This contract opportunity is ideal for Speech-Language Pathologists who are passionate about helping children overcome communication barriers and thrive in an educational setting. You’ll collaborate with educators and families to develop student-centered therapy plans, implement effective interventions, and track progress throughout the school year. Qualifications & Requirements:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Valid SLP license for Louisiana (or ability to obtain)
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred; strong CFY candidates considered
Experience providing SLP services in school settings strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students, staff, and parents
Excellent organizational abilities and comfort with data collection/documentation
Familiarity with IEP processes and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments and screenings to identify students with communication disorders
Design and implement individualized SLP treatment plans based on student needs
Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups
Participate in multidisciplinary and IEP meetings to advocate for student needs
Maintain thorough documentation and progress notes in compliance with school and state guidelines
Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding speech-language development and strategies
