Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Clinical Decision Unit (CDU). This unit focuses on timely patient care, enhancing throughput, and ensuring patient safety, making it an ideal environment for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced setting. Unit Specifics Scrub Color: Navy Blue/White or a combination of the two Number of Beds: 40 Patient Ratios: 1:5 Step-Down / 1:6 MedSurg; 1:5 when combined – day and night Unit Staffing Description: Goal is a free charge, typically 1-2 CNAs based on patient volume – day and night shifts Type of Equipment: Baxter IV pumps Documentation System: Cerner Floating Policy: Expected to float to other units within skill set Responsibilities The RN will be responsible for the following: Receiving admitted patients from the Emergency Department (ED) Completing Admission Assessments and Medication Reconciliation Initiating acute care orders in coordination with healthcare team members Ensuring exceptional patient and family experiences while maintaining a focus on safety and care Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down (PCU) settings Positive attitude with a strong emphasis on teamwork Charge Nurse experience or willingness to assume charge responsibilities is appreciated Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Expectations The ideal candidate will demonstrate a well-rounded nursing background, enhance patient throughput, and participate in an evolving healthcare environment that is centered around patient care.
