The unit specializes in receiving admitted patients from the Emergency Department (ED), conducting admission assessments, medication reconciliation, and initiating acute care orders. Unit Information Unit Name: D2 Clinical Decision Unit Number of Beds: 40 Patient Ratios: 1:5 Step-Down, 1:6 Med-Surg (1:5 if combined) Documentation System: Cerner Equipment: Baxter IV pumps Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend, assist with holidays Floating Policy: Expected to float to other units within skill set Qualifications Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) level care. Charge Nurse experience or a willingness to learn is appreciated. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Dress Code Required uniform consists of navy blue and white or a combination of the two colors. T-shirts are not permitted, and appropriate navy or white jackets/sweaters may be worn as needed.
