Bellini at Mr. C Coconut Grove is looking to hire a Pastry Cook to join our kitchen staff and maintain cleanliness around our restaurant. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Participate in the preparation of all cakes, cookies, desserts, ice creams, and other items in the pastry shop and bakery. Ensure desserts are presented attractively. Regularly inspect the quality and quantity of pastries, croissants, breads, and other bakery goods for buffets and outside orders. Check daily function sheets and prepare items accordingly. Maintain proper handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of the work area (including marble surfaces, ice‑cream machine, cold room, etc.) and ensure sanitation, safety, and health standards. Inspect tools, equipment, and supplies for cleanliness and operation, including ovens. Prepare and cook orders for daily operations. Inform supervisor of low inventory items; assist in receiving items and conducting inventory as required. Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards that meet or exceed state and local Health Board inspections and Holiday Inn requirements. Keep the kitchen area clean, neat, and well‑organized, including reach‑ins, walk‑ins, and counters. Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
Work experience as a pastry cook or in a similar role. Willingness to work as a team player when preparing dishes and coordinating meal service. Organizational skills to maintain an orderly workspace and kitchen. Hands‑on experience with professional kitchen equipment. Good knowledge of food plating techniques. Understanding of health and safety rules in a kitchen. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods of time while cooking and preparing food. Willingness to work required shifts, including night shift, breakfast rush, evenings, and weekends. Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment. A degree from a culinary school is a plus.
