Senior Accountant

Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, we are a diverse multi-practice commercial law firm known for its client-focused approach collaborative culture and commitment to delivering practical results. The Accounting team is expanding and seeking an experienced Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst to join a growing team supporting multi-office financial operations across multiple states and jurisdictions. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who values complex financial reporting analytical work and long-term professional stability within a supportive firm environment. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for multiple offices and entities while managing general ledger activity, journal entries, complex account reconciliations, trust accounts and multi-state tax obligations including Sales & Use Tax and Tangible Personal Property Tax across FL, NY, NJ and PA with accuracy and efficiency Support month-end and year-end close processes, coordinate with the CFO and external auditors on annual audits and tax preparation and ensure compliance with GAAP, federal, state and local reporting requirements while maintaining the chart of accounts and fixed asset records Conduct budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and variance analysis while delivering profitability and performance metrics, actionable financial insights and executive-level summaries and reports to firm leadership Lead audit preparation including documentation, testing and issue resolution while evaluating internal controls, recommending process improvements, conducting risk assessments and mentoring junior accounting staff Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; 5+ years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience preferably within a law firm or multi-office professional services environment Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, legal billing and trust accounting practices; experience with Aderant Expert or comparable legal accounting software strongly preferred Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-volume environment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and analysis, with strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills and a high level of discretion and confidentiality Join Us This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional seeking sophisticated multi-state financial operations work, mentorship, and long-term stability.
