Position Overview The future needs your insight. We’re looking for a practitioner in Strategic Foresight to envision the future that Autodesk will help make real. From the greenest buildings to the cleanest cars, the smartest factories to blockbuster movies, amazing things are created every day with Autodesk’s software. We’re seeking a visionary who thrives on giving shape to the unknown. Who believes they were born to chart the uncharted. This role sits within the Strategic Foresight team. It spans the company in terms of crafting a strategic viewpoint on Autodesk’s role in helping people imagine, design, and make a better world. Responsibilities Formulate and communicate a strategic point of view on the future of architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, and entertainment as input to Autodesk’s technical and business strategy Design and execute quantitative and qualitative research to inform Autodesk’s understanding of current technological, political, environmental, and socioeconomic trends Interpret insights from diverse reports and datasets to extract actionable strategic intelligence Influence strategic decision making in the form of workshops, presentations, compelling narratives, and deep one-on-one professional relationships with senior leaders Collaboratively author a variety of materials that communicate complex ideas in a clear and highly impactful way Minimum Qualifications Masters, MBA or PhD degree, and 5 years of work experience in strategic foresight, future studies, data journalism, data analysis in the social sciences, or related field Working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research tools and methodologies Outstanding interpersonal skills to build strong relationships throughout the organization Impactful, polished and adaptable communicator – written, visual and verbal Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion Strong work ethic and commitment to making a positive impact Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities of the software industry The Ideal Candidate You think strategically and you are adept at deriving business value from strategic exploration You’re a visionary and you know how to shape ideas in a way that informs or persuades You’re a trusted collaborator and you value other points of view, different approaches to solving problems, and tapping into deep expertise inside and outside the company to change your mind Remote work allowed At Autodesk, we’re building a diverse workplace and an inclusive culture to give more people the chance to imagine, design, and make a better world.
