General Operator – Blackening: Rockford, Illinois

Our customer in Rockford, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting General Operators – Blackening to work full-time on 1st shift. As a General Operator, you will be responsible for processing metal tools and parts through blackening tanks and supporting heat treating and finishing operations in a production environment.

Responsibilities of the General Operator – Blackening:

• Process metal tools and parts through multiple blackening tanks to achieve proper color and finish.
• Monitor parts as they move through different tanks for required time intervals.
• Perform heat treating, straightening, blackening, and saw operations as assigned.
• Regularly bend, lift, and maneuver parts throughout the production process.
• Use overhead cranes regularly to move tools and materials safely
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.

General Operator – Blackening Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED required, or significant relevant work experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Ability to use required hand tools including drills, screwdrivers, and impacts.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to wear required PPE including steeltoed boots or shoes.

Pay for General Operator – Blackening: $17.00/hour.
