Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to support and strengthen our accounting function in our Phoenix/Scottsdale office. This role owns core full-cycle accounting processes, from journal entries and reconciliations through month-end close, and plays a key part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records across multiple entities. Responsibilities: Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and recurring entries Perform monthly account reconciliations across bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts Support and execute the month-end and year-end close process Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely financial records across multiple entities Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity Assist with intercompany transactions and related reconciliations Provide backup accounting support for the company's Legal operations, including trust/IOLTA account activity Help prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management review Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls Support audit preparation and ad hoc financial analysis as needed Qualifications: 2–4 years of full-cycle accounting experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations Strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines Dependable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently Multi‑entity or professional services / law firm accounting experience a plus Preferred Tools & Software QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop) Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced) In‑office role based in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area Collaborative, team‑oriented setting with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement Potere Search, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
