Process Engineering Manager

Process Engineering Manager Location: Pasadena, Texas Develop and sustain expertise related to specific chemical processes and the application of those processes to chemical unit operations. Implement improvements to existing chemical plant processes in areas of yield improvement, raw materials reduction, increased throughput, process reliability, energy efficiency, sustainability and unit process safety. Manage a team of Process and Process Control Engineers to drive improvements and provide mentorship. Oversee FEL package development, commissioning and startup plans, and support capital projects to ensure scopes align with business needs. Prioritized Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Continue the development of technical competency of engineers and operational personnel for highly hazardous chemical processes. Maintain and develop expertise in surfactant technology. Manage process improvement and efficiency for selected plants. Drive compliance with all aspects of Process Safety Management (PSM). Provide engineering support for development of commissioning/start‑up plans, procedures and execution. Support development and review of equipment specifications, engineering calculations, relief device design, flare header design/sizing; use ASPEN and other modeling programs as needed. Support Process Safety Management reviews and provide recommendations from hazard reviews, LOPA, IPL, SIS requirements, MOC, PSSR, etc. Ensure activities comply with the integrated management system, including safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements. Attend work regularly and be willing to work extra hours or overtime as needed to meet production objectives. Collaborate with team members of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Assist employees in achieving company goals; follow instructions and perform duties assigned by supervisors. Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives and complete required training programs. Education / Experience / Skills Requirements B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a highly hazardous chemical operational environment. At least 5 years of combined experience in Process Engineering and/or Operations. Minimum 3 years of management experience in Process Engineering or Operations within a highly hazardous chemical environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr Manpower Group (USA)
