Account Supervisor

The Account Supervisor is a key role within our organization, responsible for leading the collaboration with the team to develop comprehensive public relations strategies that enhance a client’s brand reputation, increase brand awareness, and drive business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a creative flair, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of media relations, crisis communication, and social media.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Client Counsel

● Serve as the senior day-to-day advisor and primary point of contact for clients.

● Develop trusted relationships with client stakeholders and leadership teams.

● Provide strategic communications counsel that balances opportunity, reputation, risk, and organizational priorities.

● Anticipate client needs and proactively identify opportunities to advance business and communications objectives.

● Lead strategic planning efforts and develop recommendations aligned with client goals.

● Help clients navigate complex, sensitive, and high-pressure situations with confidence and clarity.

● Bring thoughtful perspective and sound judgment to every client interaction.

Client Leadership & Account Management

● Own the overall health, momentum, and success of assigned accounts.

● Establish and maintain a consistent rhythm of communication, planning, and execution.

● Ensure responsiveness, accountability, and follow-through across all client engagements.

● Manage expectations, priorities, timelines, and deliverables effectively.

● Identify challenges early and solve them before they affect client satisfaction.

● Foster long-term client relationships that lead to retention, growth, and partnership opportunities.

Communications Strategy & Execution

● Develop and oversee integrated communications strategies and public relations programs.

● Guide media relations, executive visibility, thought leadership, content development, stakeholder engagement, and issues management efforts.

● Monitor industry trends, news cycles, and emerging issues that may impact clients.

● Evaluate communications opportunities through both strategic and reputational lenses.

● Ensure all work aligns with client objectives and agency standards of excellence.

● Measure performance and communicate outcomes, insights, and recommendations to clients.

Financial Stewardship

● Maintain accountability for account profitability, resource allocation, and overall financial health.

● Partner with agency leadership to develop scopes of work, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively.

● Monitor account activity against budgets and proactively identify scope, staffing, or profitability concerns.

● Lead client conversations about budgets, project changes, and scope adjustments with confidence and transparency.

● Support forecasting, utilization planning, and revenue management efforts.

● Balance client needs with agency priorities to ensure sustainable account growth and long-term success.

Team Leadership & Development

● Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members.

● Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

● Provide regular coaching, feedback, and professional development support.

● Elevate the quality of work through strong leadership and clear expectations.

● Contribute to recruiting, onboarding, and agency growth initiatives as needed.

Agency Growth & Business Development

● Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships.

● Contribute to new business efforts, proposals, presentations, and agency marketing initiatives.

● Represent the agency professionally in industry, community, and networking environments.

Quali fi cations

● Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

● 5–8+ years of public relations, strategic communications, or agency experience.

● Proven success managing multiple client accounts and communications initiatives simultaneously.

● Exceptional client relationship management skills.

● Strong strategic thinking and professional judgment.

● Demonstrated ability to assess opportunities alongside reputational, operational, and business risks.

● Experience managing budgets, scopes of work, and client financial expectations.

● Strong understanding of agency operations, profitability, and resource management.

● Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

● Outstanding organizational and project management abilities.

● Experience leading teams and mentoring colleagues.

● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and composure under pressure.

● Agency experience is preferred.
