Salary Range: $51,000 - $78,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in East Lansing that are seeking skilled Fabrication Leads. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily fabrication operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
• Train, mentor, and supervise fabrication technicians, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide fabrication processes.
• Optimize fabrication workflows and recommend process improvements for increased efficiency.
• Manage material inventory and coordinate procurement of fabrication supplies.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and their applications, with relevant certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1) preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and mentor a team of fabricators, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Experience with fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, saws, and grinders, including basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Solid knowledge of safety protocols and quality control standards in a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Proven ability to train and mentor junior fabricators
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• Certification in a specialized welding technique (e.g., TIG, MIG)
• Experience implementing safety protocols in a fabrication environment
