This position requires a split shift: 20 hours on Weekdays and 20 hours on Weekends. The candidate must be a US Citizen and be at least 18 years of age. The job is located in the Groton/New London, CT area. This is a temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Job Responsibilities- Set up computer hardware and perform basic hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Provide support for software, hardware, and networking issues on desktops, laptops, and servers.
- Maintain and support legacy products and core server products.
- Perform disk replacement on enterprise storage products.
- Install and maintain PCs, associated software, networks, servers, and peripherals.
- Support network products from operational and maintenance perspectives.
- Perform installations, moves, adds, and changes as required.
- Test and certify PCs, networks, servers, and client-approved applications.
- Provide follow-up on problems or escalate as necessary.
- Maintain professionalism in actions, demeanor, and dress.
- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the service delivery transaction.
- Ensure client-specific Service Level Agreements are met and update incident and request tickets accordingly within the ticketing system.
- 1-3 years of experience in computer support with basic hardware and software skills.
- Good work ethic and organizational skills.
- Experience with installing, diagnosing, maintaining, and servicing computer-related products, including desktops, laptops, printers, network devices, standard software, and low-end servers at customer sites or depot locations.
- Ability to follow directions from Help Desk, Service Desk, or scripts using standard methods, techniques, and tools.
- Apply personal knowledge to resolve product support issues that cannot be addressed by the service desk.
- Handle assignments ranging from troubleshooting and repair to more complex device repair, including reloading and re-imaging of PCs/laptops, and installing and optimizing HW/SW networking products.
- Non-driving position, but may require driving between sites.
- Duration: 12 months with a possible extension if needed.
- Targeted start date: ASAP.
