Mechanical Maintenance Technician IIWe are looking for a talented Mechanical Maintenance Technician II to join our team specializing in Manufacturing, in our Cummins Drivetrain and Breaking Systems Business Unit site, in Plainfield, IN.Mechanical Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, assembles, installs, tests and maintains mechanical systems using all necessary tools to keep equipment available and capable. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and instruct or coach others.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:Maximize equipment uptime and reliability by troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and equipment performance by performing and documenting preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities that prevent future failuresSupport continuous improvement efforts by identifying manufacturing constraints, recommending process improvements, and contributing to TPM, safety, quality, and productivity initiatives.Develop team capability by coaching less experienced team members, sharing technical knowledge, and serving as a trusted resource for maintenance best practices.Enhance operational excellence by coordinating maintenance around production needs, or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.This position may require licensing for compliance with export Responsibilities Unique to this PositionMaintenance & Technical ExpertiseComplete maintenance tasks in accordance with industry-accepted maintenance practices, policies, and procedures.Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain company equipment, machines, and systems to support safe and efficient operations.Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and coordinate replacement parts as needed.Utilize and maintain a variety of powered tools, equipment, and company-provided maintenance tools.Apply knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.Perform machine repairs and preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.Interpret and follow service manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.Utilize troubleshooting skills to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.Apply MIG welding skills to support maintenance and repair activities.Safety & HousekeepingFollow all safety requirements, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.Continuously monitor the facility and equipment for potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.Support a safe work environment through proactive hazard recognition and prevention.Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the maintenance department and throughout the facility.Leave all work areas clean, organized, and in equal or better condition than they were found.Planning, Problem Solving & ExecutionManage multiple maintenance priorities and respond quickly to changing operational needs.Demonstrate sound judgment and initiative by planning ahead, anticipating issues, and proactively resolving problems.Effectively manage time and prioritize work to ensure timely completion of assignments.Maintain reliable attendance and demonstrate a strong commitment to quality workmanship and operational excellence.Perform additional duties as assigned to support business and production objectives.Perform physical job duties, including lifting up to 40 pounds as required.Teamwork & Customer FocusWork interactions.Additional QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Two (2) or more years of Production Maintenance experience required; three (3) or more years preferred.Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems.Experience with machine repair and preventive maintenance.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to read and interpret service
