The Albany office is seeking a full time Legal Assistant to join our Litigation Practice Group.
What You’ll Do
- Provide administrative and organizational support to multiple attorneys within the Litigation practice.
- Prepare, edit, and file pleadings, motions, affidavits, answers, discovery documents, and other legal correspondence relating to State and Federal Court litigation matters.
- Maintain and manage litigation calendars, including court deadlines and scheduling matters.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, internal staff, and external parties.
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical files, schedules, and matter related information.
- Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including mail, emails, calls, and case related materials.
- Assist attorneys and staff with day-to-day tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assignments.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- 2+ years of relevant experience, in a law firm preferred.
- Experience with New York State and/or Federal Court filing procedures and rules preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage competing deadlines.
- Professional judgment, problem solving ability, and strong decision making skills.
- Proactiveness, resourcefulness, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external clients.
- Four-year college degree preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work overtime, as necessary.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive salary, an excellent benefits package, and a collaborative, friendly environment. Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
