Transportation Coordinator

Position Information Anticipated full-time salary exempt position available August 2026. The District is seeking a dedicated and proactive Transportation Coordinator to oversee the daily transit operations for our students. In this role, you will be the heartbeat of our logistical operations—ensuring that every student arrives to and from school safely and on time. From routing and compliance reporting to supervising team members and stepping in to drive when needed, you will play a vital role in our school community. Position requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of five years of transportation experience or appropriate advanced training, and an acceptable driving record for five years. Key Responsibilities Designing, organizing, and optimizing all daily school bus and van routes Managing van driver schedules, assignments, and securing substitute drivers to ensure full route coverage Serving as the primary point of contact for contracted transportation providers and non-public schools Planning and organizing reliable transportation for school field trips, athletic events, and extracurricular activities Accurately completing and submitting all required federal, state, and local transportation reports Qualifications The successful candidate must bring a strong mix of logistical expertise, leadership, and outstanding people skills with the ability to thrive in an environment where priorities and schedules can shift rapidly. Strong organizational and communication skills are required with a proven track record of managing complex schedules, route logistics, and route-planning software.
