ROLE SUMMARY

Our Shift Lead is an hourly paid leader that has proven themselves as a Nandoca but has also shown the potential to grow into a position of higher responsibility. Shift Leads shine by positively influencing the team through strong relationships with both the team and with their managers. Shift Leads may sometimes be scheduled in position ( i.e. Griller or Cashier) and other times may serve in a supervisory role at an increased hourly wage. These rock stars have the soft skills to be able to coach Nandocas and diffuse upset customers. They proactively manage their time and energy – delegating tasks and leading service. As with all members of the Nando’s family, there is an expectation to wear multiple hats, seek out opportunities to make us and themselves better every day and in general, be a good team player! Level: Must clock in for all shifts - Hourly paid position, scheduled hours will vary. Will earn a higher wage at Shift Lead plus may be eligible for bonus, but will not earn tips Different rate will apply when working as a in-station Nandoca . Paid Time Off Eligible for Medical benefit options beginning the first of the month following start date in Shift Lead role. Hourly benefits package as defined by benefit eligibility rules Bonus eligible if maintains average of 30 or more hours per week (this is an average of all hours worked regardless of the position)

Setting the example by always behaving in line with the Nando’s Values Managing time-keeping and scheduling and attendance and making contingency plans as required . Conducting pre-shift meeting to inform and inspire the Nandocas for the day. Reporting continual performance or behavioral concerns to the Patrao. Having the courage to participate in challenging conversations and demonstrating clear, open, and effective communication with Nandocas during my shift. Monitoring adherence to SOPs and Guest service behaviors and conducting on-the-job-coaching as required .

MANAGE MY WORK RELATIONSHIPS

Welcoming new Nandocas and making them feel comfortable and part of the family. Promoting a team culture in which Nandocas on my shift talk, motivate, and support each other and know when to ask for help. Building and maintaining trust with others through open, honest, and respectful communication. Celebrating success individually and as a team when Nandocas do well during my shift. Making myself available to my peers without judgement.

MANAGE OPERATIONS

Lead all shifts to Nando’s food safety and operational standards while providing and an excellent and safe guest and Nandoca experience Thoroughly execute all opening duties: Read the Manager Communication Log (MCL), review the staff line up for the shift, check catering orders and ensure operational preparedness to execute, review sales forecast for the day, validate previous days inventory, complete prep sheet, complete any food and beverage orders required, count safe, assign cash drawers, order change, complete chicken cook sheet. Own Back of House duties during the shift, to include: completion of prep and pull/thaw lists, full utilization of the cook sheet to call chicken, and consistently performing timely and accurate line checks. Thoroughly conduct a Shift Changeover: Ensure the next manager and team of Nandocas are set up for success by making sure that all AM monies and safe are reconciled, food and production levels are validated , a final walk through is conducted and the Manager Communication Log (MCL) has been updated Thoroughly execute all closing duties, to include: Conduct final walk through to check for cleanliness, set up catering orders for the next day, complete closing inventory, reconcile all cash for the day, validate all time keeping for the day, run end of day reports, update the Manager Communication Log (MCL).

MANAGE BRAND AND GUEST

Interacting and engaging with guests. Anticipate Guests’ needs and responding quickly, accurately, and pleasantly. Attending to and resolving in-restaurant guest complaints taking corrective action as required . Using the Figure 8 to praise great execution and guest service and to coach issues that might impact the guest experience.

MANAGE FINANCES

Practice responsible Cash Management including: monies issued, safe counts, deposit preparation, cashier check outs, discount authorizations, refunds, and voids following Nando's policies Monitoring performance against specific daily targets and tracking daily sales. Entering invoices into NCR/ Micros for all orders and invoices received on the day. Reviewing and signing off on external delivery company invoices. Managing the cashiers and ensuring all till have the appropriate amount of cash.

MANAGE PLACE

Be responsible for the safety and security of your People and Restaurant by safeguarding keys, securing doors, and setting the alarm. Wearing the approved Nandos safety gear as required for my job. Reporting any faulty equipment and/or utilities and following up on the repair status. Monitoring Nandocas ’ compliance with all Health and Safety requirements. Ensuring the Wi-Fi and all IT and Point of Sale software are working and reporting any problems as they arise.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Must have a signed off PFG for the Shift Lead role Must be certified in all hourly positions Must have the ability to complete Shift Lead Pre-Work 4 weeks in a training restaurant and be validated by a representative of the Training Department Must complete onsite training and Shift Lead transition checklist within first 90 days in position Comfortable with both verbal and written English communication Must pass a background and credit check Be able to hold a food handlers and alcohol serving license (as needed by the restaurant’s jurisdiction ) Must maintain a HOT or higher performance rating Possess excellent communication skills that will serve their ability to professionally navigate and resolve situations with both Nandocas and guests

PHYSICAL R EQUIREMENTS

Able to independently lift up to 50lbs for an extended period of time Must be able to walk and/or stand for 8-10 hours per day Hand-eye coordination Reaching, bending twisting, stooping Pushing and Pulling Must be able to climb stairs in restaurants that have multiple levels
