Role Description The Associate will work on medical malpractice defense matters, including drafting pleadings and motions, preparing discovery responses, and conducting legal research and analysis. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing medical records and other case materials, participating in strategy discussions, and assisting with deposition preparation and trial preparation. The Associate will communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel, and support senior attorneys in managing case files and deadlines. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Staten Island, NY, with some work-from-home flexibility, subject to firm and practice needs. Qualifications Strong legal research and writing skills, including the ability to draft clear and persuasive pleadings, motions, and memoranda. Experience or coursework related to litigation, civil procedure, and evidence; prior exposure to medical malpractice or healthcare law is a plus. Ability to review and analyze medical records and complex factual materials with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, colleagues, experts, and court personnel. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission (or eligibility for admission) to practice law in New York. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
