SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIAN - DISTRICT

Substitute CustodianDover Public Schools is a progressive, culturally diverse school district in Morris County serving approximately 3,600 students, Pre-K through grade 12. The School District is accepting applications for a District-Wide Substitute Custodian to provide custodial coverage on an as-needed basis across all school buildings. This position supports the daily operations of the district by ensuring facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition. The substitute custodian may be assigned to any school and any shift as needed.Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness of classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas; performing routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning; emptying trash and recycling containers; assisting with building setup and breakdown for school activities and events; following all district safety procedures and proper use of custodial equipment and supplies; reporting maintenance, safety, or supply concerns to the Head Custodian or Facilities Office; providing assistance during weather-related events and emergency situations; and performing additional duties as assigned.Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred but not required, ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods, ability to work independently and follow instructions, strong attendance and punctuality required, and successfully passing required criminal history and background checks.Work schedule is on-call, as-needed basis with day, evening, and weekend shifts may be required.
