Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Telephone Triage Coordinator - LPN/ MA - GI

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required.

This is a FULL TIME/TEMP TO HIRE position requiring availability between the hours of 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, located in Norfolk, VA (23502).

Responsibilities:

As a Telephone Triage Coordinator, you will serve as the communication bridge between patients and providers throughout the day. The role begins by reviewing voicemails, patient portal messages, and overnight clinical requests to identify urgent concerns. Throughout the day, the coordinator answers incoming patient calls, gathers symptoms and medical concerns, documents details in the electronic medical record, and determines the urgency of each situation using established protocols. The coordinator works closely with providers and clinical staff to route messages appropriately, schedule urgent appointments when needed, process medication refill requests, and communicate follow-up instructions to patients. They may contact patients with lab results, post-visit follow-up calls, or provider recommendations. This position is in the heart of Norfolk, VA 23502!

Requirements for the Telephone Triage Coordinator - LPN/MA - GI

• Required: legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Required: Valid Virginia LPN License or be a Nationally certified Medical Assistant
• Required: BLS
• Required: COVID vaccination or medical waiver
• Required: Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
• Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and can multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
• Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Required: Knowledge of EMR and medical terminology.
• Required: Compassion for patient needs and a high degree of professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications for the Telephone Triage Coordinator - LPN/MA-GI:

• Preferred: GI experience preferred.
• Preferred: IV skills preferred.
